After a shipping company told police a pallet with 1,014 bottles of Patron was stolen from a trailer Sept. 19, Manuel Alejandro Martinez Fernandez advertised “large quantities” of Patron on social media.
After surveilling the suspect, Laredo (Tex.) Police Department arrested Fernandez. He admitted to being in the U.S. illegally and possessing a firearm (a federal charge). Fernandez consented to a search, and police found “numerous” bottles of Patron. Charges are pending in the tequila theft.
