Steven Busch, son of August A. Busch III and a beer wholesaler for the past 15 years, is launching his own spirits line with help from his father who is providing, among other things, marketing advice and assistance. August A. Busch III is a former chairman/CEO of Anheuer-Busch Cos.
King Spirits first two products are Walker’s Cay Bourbon ($35) & Hope Town Vodka ($23).
In addition to being available online via Mash & Grape and Drizly, the products are available off-premise in Washington, D.C.; Florida; Massachusetts and Missouri, and are to launch soon in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, South Carolina and Wisconsin
Walker’s Cay is aged in new Missouri oak barrels and finished on cherry cask staves. It’s produced at Green River Distillery in Kentucky and has a mash bill of 70% Kentucky Corn, 21% Winter Rye and 8% Malted Barley. It’s 90 proof (45% ABV). Hope Town Vodka is handcrafted in Charleston, S.C.
