Southern Wine & Spirits of America, Inc. (“Southern”) and Glazer’s, Inc. (“Glazer’s”) named leaders of their new combined entity, Southern Glazer’s, Supplier Management and Business Development—Corporate team. These appointments will be effective following the close of the transaction between the two companies, which is expected at the end of the second quarter 2016.
The following group of leaders will establish companywide priorities regarding programs and promotions and ensure consistent ways of working across Southern Glazer’s suppliers, regions and shared services. They include:
April Alejandro, VP-Multi-Cultural, will be responsible for multicultural marketing efforts across Southern Glazer’s business channels to positively impact sales execution and engagement across multicultural markets.
David Chaplin, VP-Supplier and Business Development, will drive topline and bottom-line performance and growth across the Southern Glazer’s footprint through the development and implementation of supplier growth strategies and work cross-functionally with Corporate, Regional and State teams on supplier strategy and development.
Brian Kavalsky, VP-Supplier Insights, will be responsible for providing supplier analytics and insights to drive overall performance for the Supplier Management teams. He will also serve as the key point of contact for Business Intelligence needs and system support for the Supplier Management teams. Brian will also be responsible for managing the Disaronno, Ferrari-Carano and SM USA Inc. portfolios.
Louis Zweig, Senior VP-Supplier Management, will be responsible for managing Agave Loco, Royal Wine, Sazerac and other regional supplier relationships, and will lead the Southern Glazer’s New Supplier process and Supplier Optimization program. He will also work cross-functionally with Corporate, Regional and State teams on supplier strategy.
The following individuals have been named VP-Supplier Management and will be the primary points of contact for assigned corporate managed suppliers. They will drive the suppliers’ businesses to meet their goals along with those of Southern Glazer’s. They include:
- Heather Alper will manage the Francis Coppola Winery, Freixenet, New Parrott (Wente) and Prestige Wine Imports portfolios.
- Greg Beyer will manage the Chopin, Proximo Spirits, Shaw-Ross and Sutter Home
- Blair Casey will manage E & J Gallo Winery and support regional suppliers.
- Bob Casey will manage the Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits (formally Imperial Brands) and Patron Spirits portfolios.
- Walter Cowell will manage the Campari and Treasury portfolios.
- Brian Humphreys will manage the Casamigos, Ste. Michelle and Sidney Frank
- Robert Qualls will manage the Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, Fifth Generation and Luxco portfolios.
- Miron Sargent will manage the C Mondavi and Heaven Hill portfolios, and support central region suppliers.
- Jason Schweriner will manage the Delegat, Rodney Strong, Mionetto USA, Terlato and The Wine Group portfolios.
