Robert Rue, Winery Founder, Dies at 73

With his wife Carlene, the welder and industrial gases executive, both a 10-acre home with nearly century-old zinfandel vines in 1973.  They sold their grapes to well-known wineries — Martini & Pratti, Cline, Ravenswood and Mark West Vineyards – for 30 years.  In 2001, they produced their first bottles with the Robert Rue Winery label.
