30-Bbl Semi-Automated Brewhouse Being Auctioned June 17

Bids are now being accepted for the June 17 online auction of all assets from a 30-barrel semi-automated brewhouse in Eureka that closed in December 2020. The auction is being conducted by Tiger Group and sale partner Schneider Industries on behalf of the landlord of the 20,000-square-foot brewery, which operated out of three warehouse buildings on the site.

Key assets available in the sale include a complete Wild Goose 16-oz. can line and labeler from 2019, an Alfa Laval centrifuge, more than 20 stainless steel tanks sized from 30 to 60 to 90 barrels, a Sympac Bottle Filler, a York Glycol chiller from 2016, outdoor grain silos, and a water softening system. Bidders can also vie for forklifts, hand tools, fittings, restaurant equipment, and more.

“The landlord’s decision to market the property to other uses creates an excellent opportunity for craft breweries, cider-makers and other food and beverage manufacturers to acquire top-grade equipment that continues to be maintained by one of the facility’s brewers,” said John Coelho, a Senior Director with Tiger Commercial & Industrial. “The property’s numerous tanks are also suited to other processing industries.”

Josh Bussman, VP Investment Recovery at Schneider Industries, added: “Many micro-breweries have started and expanded their business by buying quality used equipment at auction.  This is a perfect opportunity to buy assets from a complete 30 bbl brewery that is available now.”

High West Unveils a New Mobile Game

High West Distillery  debuted a new limited-time, interactive mobile game called Prairie Dash.

While playing Prairie Dash, High West fanatics will have a chance to give back and help conserve the natural habitat of Montana’s Great Plains all while competing in a collection of quick-time challenges from the perspective of a pronghorn, North America’s fastest land animal. For every game played, High West will donate $1 to American Prairieup to $50,000, and one lucky player will win a trip of a lifetime to the distillery’s home, Park City, Utah.

High West has also teamed up with actor and whiskey enthusiast Josh Holloway (best known for his roles in Paramount’s Yellowstone, Lost and Colony) as a brand ambassador for the campaign, as outdoor conservation (and whiskey!) is near and dear to his heart.

2d Cognac Connection Campaign Launched in U.S

Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac (BNIC) launched the 2nd annual Cognac Connection campaign in the US.

This virtual program has the core objective of educating and inspiring cocktail professionals on the Cognac region and spirit, as well as providing support to bartenders. Partnering with industry veterans, Lynnette Marrero and Ivy Mix of Speed Rack, along with media partner, VinePair, the multi-faceted campaign includes a series of activations such as virtual tastings and master classes for trade and media and Instagram lives with Speed Rack, Cognac Educators and last year’s winners.

The pillar of the campaign, the “Cognac Connection Challenge”, is a cocktail competition open to all professional bartenders/mixologists, which will run from June 25-Aug. 31.  Entrants are required to submit an original cognac-based cocktail, which will be judged both on creativity and deliciousness, along with other criteria.

The judging panel includes Lynnette Marrero and Ivy Mix of Speed Rack, certified Cognac Educator Kellie Thorn and a VinePair representative. Ten winning bartenders will each receive an educational award of $1,000, and their cocktails will be showcased across social media channels as well compiled into a digital recipe book, -available for download this fall on CognacConnection.com.

Virtual events include an educational webinar for trade in July and weekly Instagram live chats with Speed Rack for the duration of the competition. This year, with the widespread distribution of COVID vaccines, events will also include a socially-responsible in-person media happy hour in New York City in June as well as an on-premise program launching on National Cognac Day (June 4th).
