One of the reasons, the Northwest Cider Association says in its annual report is a serious effort by the association to grow demand by sponsoring Cider Weeks in British Columbia, Washington State, Montana and Oregon.
Overall there were 180 events during the weeks and some 340,000 people attended.
Also, the association conducted five trade tastings for 160 distributors, restaurateurs and writers.
