NYC to Enjoy Free Beer on Michelob Ultra

With the 2019 PGA Championship coming to New York next week, reigning champ Brooks Koepka came to town early warming up with Michelob ULTRA. This morning, Michelob ULTRA gave Brooks Koepka a shot to win beer for New York City by taking “The ULTRA Shot” from Governors Island onto a floating barge in the middle of the Hudson River. The deal was, if he made the shot… the beer is on us!

From The Hill on Governors Island – with lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty in the background – Brooks nailed the target. New York City will enjoy beer on Michelob ULTRA during the week of the PGA Championship while cheering for Brooks Koepka.

When the PGA Championship kicks off on May 16, consumers in NYC will be able to get a $5 rebate on a Michelob ULTRA 6-packs as well as a free ULTRA at select bars in the city from 3 – 6 pm.

Michelob ULTRA recently extended its partnership with Koepka and “The ULTRA Shot” is just one way the brand will be creating new ways to engage and reward fans throughout the golf season.

A Personal Note:   For about 200 years, Governor’s Island was a military base, first for the U.S. Army and then for the U.S. Coast Guard.  When we lived in New Jersey, your editor was a member of the Governor’s Island Officers Club, and that’s where Donna and I had our wedding reception.  The view of Manhattan coming off the Island is one of the most spectacular sights I’ve ever seen.  The only thing in Washington, D.C., to compare is the view from the Fort McNair Officers Club up the Potomac to the Washington Monument.
