The Glass Fire has been especially threatening to Napa Valley wineries, but it is hardly the largest: The August Complex fire has burned more than 1,002,097 acres and was 54% contained at 4 p.m. Eastern, CalFire says. The August complex fire is the first to hit 1 million acres, CalFire says.
The Glass Fire has officially been designed at the most destructive fire ever to hit the Napa Valley, destroying or damaging structures at more than 15 wineries in the valley. Among the wineries damaged or destroyed:
