MillerCoors to Develop Biodegradable Rings for Beer Cans to Trim Plastic

“It’s not necessarily a money saver,” says MillerCoors brew master Jeff Nickel. “It will cost more money, but it makes sense environmentally long term.”

“It” is replacing the plastic rings that have held together six-packs of beer and soda since the 1970s;

MillerCoors has teamed with Footprint, a maker of environmentally friendly recyclable material to develop a replacement.
