The water went to residents of eight counties who were affected by a massive boil order, issued 11 days ago after parts failed at the Southern Iowan Rural Water Association’s treatment plant.
Also helping: Hy-Vee, a grocery chain in the area, which donated 20,000 gallons of water, and Pepsi Beverages and Anheuser-Busch, which donated more than 6,000 gallons.
