Covid-19 continued to hurt the bev/al industry in June. The latest indicator of the depth of that hurt: Malt beverage imports, which were down 15.1% to 87.43 million gallons from a year earlier.
But that was actually a significant improvement from May, the Beer Institute said.
Mexico volumes were down 7.9% for June and are off 3.4% year-to-date following government-ordered brewery closures for April and May.
With continued on-premise closures, volume of imported draft beer continued to take a significant hit in June, down 85%. Year-to-date volumes are now down more than 50%.
