Luna Vineyards launched a new wine series that has been in the works behind the scenes since 2014: The Winemaker’s Reserve, a selection of four wines carefully crafted by its winemaker, Shawna Miller and winery President, Andre Crisp. The line is comprised of a 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, a 2017 Chardonnay, a 2017 Pinot Noir, and a 2016 Sangiovese.
The Sangiovese and Chardonnay were grown in top Napa Valley vineyards, the Pinot Noir is from vineyards on the cliffs of the Sta. Rita Hills, and the Cabernet Sauvignon hails from Oakville and Yountville sub AVAs. The Winemaker’s Reserve collection debuted at the Decanter Fine Wine Encounter in London.
In the creative process of the line, Luna moved to an austere elegance, stripping away design to flourish and present a simple notion: that the real statement is inside the bottle. Each bottle has a special signed note from Shawna describing how the wine was made and tasting notes, and each bottle is embossed with a luxurious red seal. This collection has been hand-harvested and farmed from vineyards specially sourced for having unique and superior terroir. The Winemaker’s Reserve collection is a trade line available for wholesale purchase, and the suggested retail price ranges from $45- $65 per bottle.
