Gallo Winery Sued for Alleged Patent Infringement

Paul Skinner, a St. Helena-based vineyard management consultant, says he holds patents for “automatic, precision agriculture” technology that uses external data and sensors to “accurately control dispensing of water,” fungicides, fertilizers and insecticides.

Gallo says it has a long history of respecting intellectual property.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
