. . . Or with as little — or much — alcohol as a drinker may wish for any occasion.
Free Spirits Co. is a new, California-based company with a different approach to the non-alcohol market: Not only are its products tasty alternatives to bourbon, gin and tequila for those who wish a no-alcohol experience, they also can be mixed with bourbon, gin and tequila to “dial up or down” the amount of alcohol in a cocktail “without sacrificing taste.”
The Free Spirit Company uses a process called Distillate Reconstruction wherein it sources natural ingredients like American White Oak, European Juniper, and Mexican Blue Agave then distill and extract the essential oils and flavors. Those distillates are recombined in ways that honor the nose, taste, and mouthfeel of traditional spirits while skipping the fermentation process. For that little something extra, each one of the Free Spirits is infused with vitamins B3 and B6 along with naturally uplifting amino acids like taurine.
“There’s something magical about great cocktails,” says Milan Martin, founder. “Their ingredients come from all over the world. Their varieties are endless, and they’re bold, beautiful and delicious. I guess I just don’t believe that alcohol needs to be the star player in every cocktail for it to be great.”
“We are cocktail people who enjoy something complex and delicious, but who don’t always want the effects that come with alcohol,” adds Martin.
