Foley Family Wines (FFW) acquired Huntington Hill Vineyards in Willamette Valley, Ore., and Chalk Ridge Vineyard in Russian River Valley, Calif. Each vineyard will support Foley’s rapidly growing luxury wine portfolio, which includes The Four Graces from Willamette Valley and Chalk Hill from Sonoma County. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Huntington Hill Vineyard is in the newly formed Van Duzer Corridor AVA in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The purchase includes the full vineyard operation property of 165 total acres, of which 21 acres are planted to vineyards, as well as a temperature-controlled wine storage building, two machine sheds and several agriculture buildings. Huntington Hill Vineyards sits 230 to 400 feet above sea level and benefits from the Van Duzer corridor providing cool maritime air from the Pacific Ocean.
The 21-acre vineyard is mostly planted to Pinot Noir but also features Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Chardonnay. An additional 85 acres can be planted based on the Gallagher Soil Report.
Foley Family Wines has purchased fruit from Huntington Hill Vineyards for the past two vintages for its Oregon based The Four Graces wine brand. Historically, Huntington Hills vineyard fruit was sold to Soter Vineyards, Joel Gott, Domaine Serene, Evening Land, Adelsheim and JK Carriere. The fruit will continue to be used for Foley Family Wines’ The Four Graces and Acrobat Winery.
The 64-acre Chalk Hill Ridge Vineyard is planted to Chardonnay, Merlot, and Syrah. The fruit has historically gone to Kendall Jackson, Sonoma Cutrer, Dariush and Duckhorn. In 2020 the fruit will be used for Foley Family Wines’ Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards and Roth Estate Winery.
