England Tops Scotland in Distilleries, For 1st Time

England now has more distilleries than Scotland, Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs reports. England now has 166 distilleries, up from 135, compared to 160 in Scotland, up from 149. A boom in gin has resulted in HMRC issuing 31 new distillery licenses in the last five years.
