Chip Cassidy, ‘Miami’s Wine Guru,’ Dead at 72

Cassidy, who started the wine education program at Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality died Monday after a brief battle with esophageal cancer.  In addition to being a FIU professor for 35 years, he was chief buyer for Crown Wine & Spirits and was credited with turning it into one of the largest wine retailers in Florida.
