China Adds Whiskey to Retaliatory Tariffs List

China’s Ministry of Commerce added 106 more products – everything from soybeans to aircraft – to the list of U.S. products it is targeting for 25% retaliatory tariffs.

Among the additions:  Whiskeys and brewing or distilling dregs and waste.

Will the tariffs ever actually be imposed?  Maybe.  Maybe not.  Larry Kudlow, President Trump’s top economic adviser, played down the threat:  “I don’t think it’s a trade war. I think there is going to be intense negotiations on both sides.”
