Wine brands that Constellation is considering selling are Clos du Bois, Mark West, Arbor Mist and Cooks, Reuters reported. The brands could bring as much as $40 million.
We asked Constellation Brands for comment, but as of press time, the company hadn’t responded.
Reuters said CBrands was working with Goldman Sachs Group on the sale.
CBrands has increasingly positioned itself as a brewer since it acquired U.S. rights to Corona in the U.S. The Modelo brand has had a compound annual growth rate of nearly 20% in the last five years, Reuters noted.
As for wine, it Wine accounted for 38.6% of Constellation’s consolidated net sales of $7.6 billion in the 12 months to the end of February, down from 44.7% of net sales two years ago.
The company has expanded its stake in the cannabis industry. Boosting its 10% stake in Canopy Growth Products, a marijuana seller in Canada, to 38%.
