Named Phoenix Rosé, this small lot wine (240 cases) pays tribute to the strength and resilience that the Napa and Sonoma communities demonstrated following the October 2017 wildfires. 100% of the wine’s profits will be donated to the Napa Valley Community Foundation (NVCF) Disaster Relief Fund which actively supports families and businesses in the North Bay community.
“Even the worst wildfires in Northern California history could not destroy the spirit of our wine community,” said Cakebread Cellars president and CEO Bruce Cakebread. “Nor could they negatively impact the wines of the 2017 vintage which we feel confident will be just as memorable in quality as they were in the making.”
Winery chairman Dennis Cakebread said of the fires, “We were fortunate that our talented employee team was safe, that our winemaking facilities were undamaged and that our vineyard losses were limited to 6-7 acres of newly planted vines in the southeastern corner of Napa known as Suscol Mountain.”
