Budweiser YouTube’s Clydesdales in Run-Up to Super Bowl

It will be interesting to know – if Anheuser-Busch will tell us – how many views “Beer Country” gets on YouTube compared to how many views the Budweiser water-canning commercial when it airs during the Super Bowl.

Yep.  This afternoon A-B announced it was unveiling “a new piece of Clydesdale content titled ‘Beer Country’ that will live exclusively online this week in the lead-up to the Super Bowl.”

It’s actually, with one quibble, a pretty good ad.  It conveys a good message, and we think it would resonate with consumers.   The quibble:  It shows a solitary Clydesdale, not the eight-horse hitch pulling a Budweiser wagon.  But not showing the hitch breaks the connection to Budweiser.  In fact, the only two times it’s a Budweiser commercial is early on, when the solitary horse passes the Budweiser packaging facility in St. Louis, and at the end, when it says, “This Bud is from Beer Country.”

“In addition to the Clydesdale film,” A-B went on,  “Budweiser will be bringing back the Clydesdales Cam where viewers can watch the Clydesdales, watching the game, in real-time online.”

Also, on Sunday, Budweiser will also reveal a Snapchat World Lens that will incorporate a moving, football throwing Clydesdale into consumer snaps on game day.

You can see the “Beer County” here.
