Beer or Cider Ice Cream Now Legal in New York

A new state law will authorize the sale of ice cream made with cider or beer. The frozen products can’t contain more than 5% alcohol and prohibit sales to anyone younger than 21.

New York has allowed the sale of wine ice cream for a decade. Lawmakers voted earlier this year to add beer and cider ice cream to the list in an effort to take advantage of consumer interest.
