Barnes & Noble said it will open four concept stores in the next year that will feature restaurants with “an expanded menu along with a beer and wine offering.” The first store will be in Eastchester, N.Y., and will open this fall.
The idea is to provide an experience — books and beer or wine. “If Barnes & Noble can provide customers a pleasant dining experience with good food and drink – a must for restaurant success – and not to mention, an array of wonderful books, they may just have something,” said Bonnie Riggs, an analyst for NPD, a market research firm.
