A Rum Distillery Opens in D.C.

The heat of summer may not be all that much different from the Caribbean, but most consumers probably would not expect to find a rum distillery on the Washington waterfront.  But there is one — Todd Thrasher, a multi-year James Beard Award finalist has just opened Potomac Distilling Co., an urban rum distillery which will produce four varieties of Thrasher’s Rum – White, Gold, Spiced, and Green Spiced, a one-of-a-kind botanical blend made to impart flavors of gin with herbs grown on the distillery’s rooftop garden.
