A-B Donates Hand Sanitizer for Election Effort

Anheuser-Busch is donating 8 million gallons of sanitizer and will make them available through state election officials at polling stations.

The sanitizer is being produced at the Baldwinsville, N.Y., and Los Angeles breweries as well as at Cutwater Spirits of San Diego and Devil’s Backbone Brewing in Virginia.

The end product is 80% alcohol, higher than the 60% needed to kill the virus.  It will be packaged into 8-ounce bottles and distributed through A-B’s existing distributors.

The project is part of the company’s “Brew Democracy” initiative to increase participation in the political process.
